MNworks Show with Rogue Citizen — Friday, February 1, 2013
When we’re deep into the Minnesota freezing season, I love staying warm inside and working on art. I’m excited to share that one of my newest pieces, which I finished on a subzero day a few weeks ago while swathed in blankets, will be included in the “MNworks” show happening at Bedlam Community Design Center this Friday, February 1, 2013. The piece incorporates original characters I designed for Becky Derbach’s children’s book Fanny and Freddie (released this past fall) and celebrates people’s power to challenge banks and resist foreclosure. Some Twin Cities hip-hop and art world heavy-hitters are involved in the one-night only show; it should be a really worthwhile, high-quality event. Here are details–

More than 6,000 janitors and security officers have been working without a contract since January 1, 2013. The contracts expired on December 31, but employers are continuing to drag their feet in negotiations. Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 26, Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha (CTUL), and allies across the metro area have mobilized to show the elite corporate 1% that workers deserve living wages and fair working conditions.
Join us in this one-night event celebrating the art of labor and justice movements, as part of the “Unlock” campaign to win workers’ rights and better our communities.
